How Do I...
Make An Appointment?
Appointments may be made by telephoning 01546 462001 or by calling at the Medical Centre. Appointments can be made in advance or booked on the
day. Every surgery is made up of three different types of appointment. These are:
• In advance - can be booked up to 4 weeks in advance.
• 48 hours in advance - can be booked 48 hours in advance.
• Same day - These have to be booked on the day.
• Unless you require a "same day" appointment, it is advisable to phone after 9.00am as the phones are extremely busy for the first hour of each day.
We endeavour to provide an appointment with an appropriate healthcare professional within 24 hours.
If you cannot keep the appointment please inform us as soon as possible to allow someone else to see the doctor or nurse at that time.
We run one late evening surgery every week between 5.00 and 8.00pm (Monday to Thursday - the particular evening will vary). Patients can see either a doctor or practice nurse, who will attend on a rotational
basis, and these appointments can be booked up to four weeks in advance.
How Do I...
Obtain Telephone Consultations?
Telephone consultations can be booked up to four weeks in advance with a doctor or practice nurse, who will call you on a pre-arranged number. These appointments can be
used for obtaining test results, follow-on sick lines, medication advice, travel health advice or to discuss general health concerns.
How Do I...
Obtain A Home Visit?
Patients are requested to telephone before 10.00am if a visit is required that day. Emergency visits will only be arranged after that time. Please give the receptionist as much information as possible to enable the doctor to allocate priority to house calls. Please remember that several patients can be seen at the surgery in the time that it takes to do a home visit.
