Personal Health Information

The practice has a security policy which indicates how personal information held by the practice is protected. This is in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.

The practice will not disclose any personal information to a third party without the written consent of the patient and information will only be accessed by an authorised person in the discharge of their duties.

Freedom Of Information

The Freedom Of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 came into force on 1st January 2005 and enables any person requesting information from a public body to receive that information, subject to certain exemptions. This is to encourage public authorities such as GP Practices to be more open and accountable and organise their information in an efficient and accessible way.

This excludes personal data.
